About the Event

Many of us are watching current events unfold and feeling overwhelmed, angry, scared, or unsure how to help. This space exists for people who care and do not want to look away, but also do not want to burn out, spiral, or perform activism without understanding what is actually happening.

This is a weekly community circle for collective reflection. We will gather in person to share personal experiences, listen deeply, and make sense of what this moment is asking of us. The format is structured and intentional. One person speaks at a time. No debates. No hot takes. No experts. Just real people naming what they are seeing, feeling, and carrying.

The circle is inspired by historical consciousness-raising practices used in social movements when people felt isolated, frozen, or privately distressed. The goal is not therapy and not a lecture. The goal is clarity. When we hear one another, patterns emerge. When patterns emerge, fear loosens. From there, grounded action becomes possible.

This space is open to all genders and especially welcomes queer folks, immigrants, mixed-status families, and anyone impacted by current events. You do not need to be an organizer or activist to attend. You do not need to know the “right” language. You only need a willingness to listen respectfully and speak from your own experience.

Each week will focus on a simple guiding question related to the current moments and its impacts. We will move from personal stories to shared themes and then to collective understanding. Participation is always optional. Passing is allowed. Confidentiality is expected.

If you have been asking yourself:

“I want to help but don’t know how.”

“I feel frozen.”

“I can’t hold this alone anymore.”

This space is for you.

Come. Sit in the circle. Make sense together.
